Kahu Community Response Team
The Kahu Community Response Team is made up of locals — people from right here in Clevedon and the surrounding area who are trained and ready to step in when emergencies happen. From setting up community resilience shelters to helping with clean-up and recovery, KCRT volunteers are there to support neighbours when it matters most.
In recent years, storms, flooding, and cyclones have tested our community. Having trained local volunteers means essential tasks are handled quickly — freeing up emergency services like the Fire Brigade, Police, and St John to focus on saving lives and protecting property.
