Clevedon Village is nestled in the heart of the Wairoa Valley, a 35-minute drive from the hustle & bustle of the Auckland CBD and only 25 minutes from the Auckland International Airport. The valley extends from the catchment in the Hūnua Ranges, the highest point in Auckland, follows the Wairoa River as it winds through the valley plains to the coast between Waitawa and Whakakaiwhara/Duder Regional Parks. It is this diversity of landscape that provides so many great opportunities to enjoy, live and play. From the extensive orchards of the original Māori settlements to the gradual development of a now bustling town, the Wairoa Valley has a long and fascinating history. Hāpua o Te Wairoa (the Wairoa Valley) has been a strong and vibrant home to Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki for hundreds of years and you can visit their website for more details of their comprehensive history. For a walk through the early European history take a visit to the 145-year-old McNicol Homestead museum where you can learn about what Clevedon was like back in the 1800’s.
