An elevated & rambling garden is inspiration for my sculptural work. The glass house has become my studio which I share with exotic plants. I work wth clay for its permanence in the landscape when fired.

Indigenous trees, birds and natural clay pigments in Te Wairoa, Clevedon, inspire Ana’s work. Ana is looking forward to sharing her practice with an Exhibition at the Papakura Art Gallery later in November.

Teri Berry is a felt-maker and potter working from her purpose-built studio, where visitors can watch her transform fluffy wool fibres into durable felt using only soapy water and skilled hands. Alongside creating tactile artworks in clay and felt, Teri runs felt-making workshops (teriberry.com/felting-classes-2) and offers both finished pieces and a curated selection of fibres for felt-makers and spinners.

Visit Maxine at her home studio to experience her oil paintings and silk artworks. Originally from the Pacific Islands of Samoa, Maxine’s vivid paintings of tropical flowers, birds, and landscapes reflect both where she is from and her unique style. During her years living and working abroad in Singapore, she further expanded her practice by studying silk and batik painting under the tutelage of Asia and world renowned artist Mr. Said Tzee Sarkasi.

With over 20 years of experience, I design and make jewellery primarily in sterling silver, often accented with gemstones and pearls to add warmth and contrast. My training was hands-on, beginning with private mentorship from a London-trained tutor who taught at a technical institute, followed by further study with a respected artist and jeweller in Auckland.

The Artisan School is dedicated to the teaching of hand crafts and the sharing of skills that are now in danger of being lost. We do this through hands on workshops based just out of Clevedon in Ness Valley.

The Clevedon Art Group is currently meeting at the Sports Club Rooms, Clevedon. The cost is $5.00 a session. We welcome new members and range from beginners to professional artists.

Riverhaven Artland is “a place where nature greets Art” with many permanent site-specific sculptures by NZ Artists. Walk the 40 acre tree lined Sculpture Park, guided by the trail map provided. Dogs allowed but must be on a leash at all times.

Clevedon Creatives + Co is a collective group of Creatives, Makers, Crafters & Artists. The store is run by a team of passionate creatives and is “non for profit” meaning what you spend goes straight back to the Creator. The aim is to provide a space where professional artists/creators can present their work to the local community with the support of like minded individuals. The collective group offer a space for exhibitions and workshops.

Ginny Fisher fuses photography, painting and printmaking into her practice which explores her connection to the natural world. Ginny studied fine art at Parsons School of Design in New York and has worked as an arts writer for Viva for the past six years, exposing her to an array of New Zealand’s finest artists, many of whom continue to influence her art practice. She exhibits locally and her photography is available to purchase on her website or through her instagram profile.

Creating ‘Wearable Art’ through clever design utilising re-purposed textiles and vintage apparel, enables my costumes to be unique in an ever increasing “throw away” society.
