Our Objectives

The Clevedon Design and Planning Subcommittee is a group of community members with relevant technical expertise who are passionate about Clevedon, the environment, communities, good design and planning.

 

We have a vision for Clevedon that sees the existing rural character and community fibre and values Preserved and Enhanced, as intended by Plan Change 32.

 

We sit as a subcommittee of the Clevedon Business Association.  We are independent from Council and Developers, however it is our objective to work cooperatively with both of these groups.

 

We are volunteers.

 

Our objectives are:

 

  1. To keep in the community informed about the implementation of Plan Change 32. 

 

  2. To empower the community to be involved in relevant aspects of the implementation of Plan Change 32 in a manner which will achieve best practice environmental and urban design outcomes.

 

  3. To collaborate with the owners of major land holdings to implement excellence and great outcomes that retain the rural character, community spirit and cultural heritage of Clevedon.

 

  4. To encourage Auckland Council to participate in and contribute towards planning and developing new amenities
